BAM explains reason behind route change
President of the Barbados Association of Masqueraders Jason Thompson has been explaining why they've lobbied for a change to the Kadooment route. He says they wanted bigger roadways and a safer environment for revellers. Yesterday, it was announced the annual parade will start at the Helipad in Bridgetown, proceed onto the Princess Alice Highway, turn onto Prescod Blvd, continue along President Kennedy Drive, turn left at Barbarees Hill, turn left at Eagle Hall Junction by the traffic lights, continue along Black Rock Main Road, left at Frank Worrell Roundabout, and onto the Mighty Grynner Highway. The parade ends on the highway, and bands will enter Kensington Oval.
