Bangladesh students vow to keep demonstrating after job quotas walked back
In Bangladesh a Supreme Court ruling has significantly reduced quotas for government jobs. The controversial policy - scrapped by Sheikh Hasina's government in 2018 - was reintroduced in June, prompting widespread demonstrations. A crackdown by security forces has killed more than 140 people and injured thousands. A nationwide curfew and internet blackout remain in force – and protesters say their fight isn't over.
