Barbadians encouraged to invest in SOEs

Barbadians are being encouraged to invest in state-owned enterprises. That's the call from Minister in the Ministry of Finance Ryan Straughn. He was speaking during the wind-up session of a visit by the International Monetary Fund to Barbados this week. The Minister cites the Grantley Adams International Airport as one of the state-owned entities getting attention from foreign investors. He says Barbadians should not allow the opportunity to slip. The Minister said Government was close to making a decision on the airport with an investment partner but took a decision to put a hold on the formalities and review the initiative.
