There's strong support tonight for incentives to motivate people to start saving for retirement. It comes as the Barbados Association of Retired Persons and the Ministry of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs prepare to host a one-day conference on retirement. Speaking at a press conference, Minister Kirk Humphrey stated he looks forward to the day Government can offer such a package that would motivate people to consider saving from young. Meanwhile President of the Barbados Association of Retired Persons Marilyn Rice-Bowen expressed concern some elderly people are facing the consequences of failing to plan properly for retirement.
