Barbadians lauded for efforts to help needy
Barbadians are being lauded for their generosity in coming forward this yuletide season to assist needy families across the country. This from Social Development Project Manager for the One Family Programme Nicole Daniel, who has reported increasing interest from individuals and businesses in assisting families challenged by the economic times. Ms. Daniel says they welcome all donations this Christmas to assist in their 1000 Families drive. She made the remark during a press conference at the Ministry of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs where a number of care packages were presented by iMart Pharmacy for the poor and vulnerable in Barbados. Ms. Daniel says Government is trying to engage families more in Barbados by harnessing a partnership which seeks to move away from the welfare mentality.
