Barbadians urged to donate blood
Barbadians can give more than chocolate and flowers this valentines, as the Blood Bank wants citizens to share the love by donating blood. The Blood Bank is working to restock its supply during a Valentine's Day Blood Drive tomorrow from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Senior Blood Collection Technician Wendy Lorde says the blood will save lives. She was also guest on CBC TV8's Mornin' Barbados. Ms. Lorde says people with recent tattoos and piercings are deferred for one year. Top blood donor, John Wilson who first started donating blood as a teenager, is reminding people the process is voluntary. He's encouraging citizens to give from the heart.
