Barbados is making greater steps to improve the landscape of Para-sport on the island. In commemoration of Japan-CARICOM friendship year 2024, the Barbados Olympic Association, Barbados Judo Association and the Embassay of Japan participated in dialogue to bring about more inclusion. During a panel discussion led by visiting Olympic Gold Medalist Keiji Suzuki and Paralympian Yusuke Hatsuse, Deputy Director of the National Sports Council Emmerson Bascombe, said recruiting sporting talent in Barbados must be geared towards more citizens with disabilities.
