Barbados exploring ways to augment groundwater

Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley says as a water-scarce country, Barbados has to explore all possible means to augment its groundwater. She highlighted the challenges during a Clinton Global Initiative Annual meeting titled 'Innovating in a Time of Crisis'. Ms. Mottley says she's working for a debt for climate swap to assist in this regard. The Barbadian Leader is also continuing her push for changes to the global financial architecture, to better assist small island developing states on the frontline of the climate crisis. She says SIDS need long-term capital to build resilience. Ms. Mottley added without some form of global levy, the world is unlikely to bridge the gap.
