Barbados marks World Diabetes Day

On this 'World Diabetes Day', the Barbados Diabetes Foundation is stressing the importance of early detection in the fight against the non-communicable disease. Manager Dwight Edghill acknowledged the strides made locally, especially through the range of services on offer at the foundation and on the island. He wants citizens to avail themselves of the services. The theme for this year's world diabetes day is "Breaking Barriers, Bridging Gaps," It highlights the commitment to reducing the risk of diabetes and making sure everyone with the disease has access to equitable, thorough, reasonably priced, and high-quality care.
