Barbados signals support for 2nd IDPAD to be declared

At the close of the International Decade for People of African Descent (IDPAD), Barbados has signalled its support before the United Nations for a second decade to be declared. Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Francois Jackman reiterated the island's position during a High Level Meeting to mark the Closure of the International Decade. Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley along with Barbados Ambassador to CARICOM, David Comissiong have also stated the island's position at several international fora. During the forum, Ambassador Jackman welcomed several proposals put on the table, noting Barbados would be pleased to support them.
