Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has signalled her support for an independent panel on evidence for action against anti-microbial resistance, AMR. In 2019, the United Nations Interagency Coordination Group for Antimicrobial Resistance called for three bodies to support global efforts to address AMR. Two of these have already been created - the global leaders group to drive political action and the AMR multi-stakeholder partnership platform, to foster cooperation among diverse AMR stakeholders. The third body, an independent panel, has not yet been established. Ms. Mottley was at the time engaging in a side event at the ongoing UN General Assembly.
