Barbados, US hailed for championing values of freedom, human rights
Barbados and the United States have been hailed for championing the values of freedom, equality of opportunity, human rights and justice for all. US Ambassador to Barbados, Roger Nyhus acknowledged the efforts during a meeting with Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley. He shed light on the significant historical link to Barbados and the inherent value of that connection for the future. He says Prime Minister Mottley is a leading global voice on the challenges brought on by climate change and expressed his commitment to working alongside her toward a brighter, safer, and more prosperous future for all. During the meeting, the US Ambassador presented Prime Minister Mottley with a diplomatic feather - a custom gift adorned with the colours of the Barbadian flag. Ambassador Nyhus, a member of the Chinook Indian Nation, personally commissioned the pieces through Stonington Gallery in Seattle.
