BBC ‘deliberately’ awarded Barbra Banda footballer award: Joe Hildebrand

Sky News contributor Joe Hildebrand believes the BBC “deliberately” awarded Barbra Banda Women’s Footballer of the Year. The award caused backlash after the Zambian footballer failed to meet gender regulations over “high testosterone”. “What is she [Banda] supposed to do,” Mr Hildebrand said. “It is the way she was born.” Mr Hildebrand added he believed the BBC selected Ms Banda “deliberately” to show they were on the “cutting edge”. “The BBC would’ve known this would cause a bit of controversy,” he said.
