British Columbia’s provincial election turned out to be just as close as pollsters predicted, with the outcome sitting on a knife edge late Saturday night as the final results trickled in. During his late-night speech, NDP Leader David Eby told supporters it was no surprise that "every vote would matter" but British Columbians showed there is a "clear majority for the progressive values." Eby added that while he does not always agree with his political opponent, he acknowledged BC Conservative Leader John Rustad spoke to many frustrations felt by those in the province. As of 10:45 p.m., the BC NDP were leading or elected in 46 seats, the BC Conservatives were leading or elected in 45 seats, and the Greens were leading or elected in two seats.
