Beekepers Facing Myriad Challenges From Climate Change To Contraband Products

Local bee producers are facing an uphill battle to ensure the sustainability of the sector. Already faced with challenges from pests and diseases, contraband products and inferior quality products, they now have to contend with the ravages of climate change. There has been a call for more technical support, and for more young people to enter beekeeping, but there is also a need for more affordable credit to accompany that call.
