Beryl's Wake: Caribbean Communities in the Aftermath

On July 1st, 2024, a deadly Category 5 hurricane charged through the Caribbean, claiming lives, livelihoods and homes. Hurricane Beryl the second named storm but first hurricane in the 2024 Atlantic season became the earliest Category 5 ever recorded in the Atlantic. It impacted over 10 Caribbean islands from Barbados to Jamaica, with at least two of them, Carriacou and Union Island, being decimated.
