Barbados' Ambassador to CARICOM, David Comissiong says the devastation brought by Hurricane Beryl, brings into focus the need of the Loss and Damage Fund, to assist climate vulnerable countries like Barbados. The Fund is an initiative Barbados has been championing globally and urging countries to commit to. Ambassador Comissiong says Beryl has presented a real challenge to CARICOM early into the 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season. He was a guest on the Conversation on CARICOM segment of Mornin' Barbados. While Trinidad has provided safe harbour for vessels from Grenada, Ambassador Comissiong revealed two major vessels will be laden with emergency supplies to take back to St. Georges. He says needs lists have been issued by both Grenada and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, as he appealed to businesses, organisations and individuals.
