Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, who is lodged in Bengaluru's Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in connection with a murder case, was seen getting VIP treatment inside the jail in a picture which has gone viral on social media. Reacting to the viral image, the Karnataka government has suspended nine prison officials and sought an enquiry report. Addressing the media on Monday, Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said that he received information last evening that "Darshan along with four others were relaxing and drinking tea inside the jail premises. I spoke to the DG Prisons and sent officials to the spot.
