U.S. President Joe Biden and U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris travelled to hurricane-hit states this weekend, as communities across the southeast recover from Hurricane Milton and Hurricane Helene. Both of the recent storms — and the federal response to them — have become a major political issue, just weeks ahead of the election. Hurricane Milton left behind a trail of damage estimated at $50 billion that will cost insurers between $30 to $60 billion.
