Sky News US analyst Michael Ware calls out US President Joe Biden’s hypocrisy following his decision to pardon his son, Hunter Biden, despite previous promises not to do so. The outgoing leader of the free world made the announcement through a White House statement, saying he did not want to impede the Justice Department’s decision-making, but it was “clear” his son was “treated differently”. Mr Ware argued that the recent move from President Biden significantly tarnished his legacy in the White House due to the hypocrisy involved. “This does tarnish President Biden’s legacy. I mean, the hypocrisy here abounds on both sides of the political divide, but the hypocrisy abounds,” Mr Ware told Sky News Australia. “One, we’ve heard from President Biden saying over and over and over for months when he was running for president in his election and before that that he wouldn’t pardon his son. Well, he’s flipped-flop on that completely ... an absolute 180-degree reversal on that. “There’s also the hypocrisy that he’s saying in his official statement, essentially adopting former President Trump’s argument that I am doing this for my son because essentially the judicial process has been weaponised. He doesn’t say weaponised, but he says the judicial process has been pressured against him. “So that’s basically President-elect Trump’s main claim about the Justice Department. Now, this certainly puts a real block on the end of Biden’s presidency.”
