Binance co-founder becomes wealthiest US inmate

Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood says the creator of cryptocurrency business Binance Changpeng Zhao – also known as CZ – is now America’s wealthiest inmate. The Binance co-founder reported to the Lompoc II Federal prison in California last Tuesday after pleading guilty to charges of money laundering “CZ resigned his position as Binance’s CEO but still holds his stake in the crypto exchange,” Mr Greenwood said. “He is also the biggest owner of the BNB crypto token. Its price soared more than 9 per cent on the day that he reported to prison.”
