Blue Monday: How to manage your mental well-being during the cold winter months
Every year, the third Monday in January is known as Blue Monday – supposedly the saddest day of the year. There are a host of issues working against us to make the day the most depressing of the year, including less exposure to natural sunlight – which is crucial to regulating our mood. We also don’t get as much vitamin D and the cold temperatures and overcast skies can discourage us from physical activity. Whatever the case, it’s clear that managing mental health during these cold, dark winter months can be a challenge.
