Boosting lion population - UWEC mulling idea to invest in lion breeding

Every 3rd of March, Uganda joins the rest of the world to commemorate wildlife day, with a concern to protect endangered species. The Lion, also referred to as king of the jungle, is facing extinction. Statistics from the Wildlife Conservation Society and Uganda Wildlife Authority census on Lions indicates a decline, from about 460 lions in 2022 to about 320 to date. And as we hear in the following feature story, there is conflict between humans and wildlife, and Climate change variations have also had a devastating effect on their natural habitat, the jungle.
