Britain has 'less than a week of gas left', warns Centrica

The cold snap has left Britain with just a week's worth of gas left in storage, the owner of British Gas has warned. Centrica said UK gas storage sites on Thursday were 26% lower than the same period last year, leaving them around half full. Several days of freezing weather and Russia's decision last month to end gas pipeline supplies through Ukraine are being blamed for the shortage.
