BSSAC sponsors committed to event's success
Sponsors of the annual Barbados Secondary Schools Athletic Championships have been acknowledged for their role in the development of track and field in Barbados. Despite some setbacks with the completion of the track at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex, sponsors say they are fully committed to the Championship's success. During a ceremony at Queen's College on Thursday evening, title sponsor Dasani-Powerade and a number of others said they are happy to be on board once again. Co-chair of the BSSAC Organising Committee, Andrew Brathwaite, says with forced changes to the meet due to the initial unavailability of the Usain Bolt Sports Complex, he expects the rivalry to be intense. Aspects of the meet will also be named after two ladies who recently passed away and would have contributed significantly to the competition. Tickets for the semi-finals and finals will be available for $20 and $25 respectively at Duty Free Barbados and Esso Black Rock.
