BSSEE: Confident early sitter aces test

There were feelings of relief, anxiety and excitement as pupils received the results of the Barbados Secondary Schools’ Entrance Examination (BSSEE) yesterday. Jayesh Whitehead, of the Bridgetown Seventh-Day Adventist Primary School, was among the jubilant ones, having ranked in the top ten across the country and second among the boys overall. The early sitter, who took the test, also known as the Common Entrance or 11-Plus, just one day shy of his tenth birthday, scored 99 in mathematics, 93 in English and an A in composition, for a total score of 244.59.
