Budget update to show severe deficits

Mining exports are set to be downgraded by more than $100 billion as China’s faltering economy leaves a large defect hole in Australia’s budget. Treasurer Jim Chalmers is expected to announce larger forward deficits in the mid-year economic and fiscal outlook this Wednesday. Despite posting two surpluses, the Treasurer claims the government has done its best with what he calls an inherited problem.
