CAADP OPENING: OPERATIONALIZATION OF REGIONAL CENTERS EMPHASIZED AS CAADP SUMMIT OPENS IN KAMPALA

African Countries have been challenged to establish and operationalise five regional animal resources seed centres of excellence for improved animal breeding and yields. The call follows a position agreed upon during the Specialized Technical Committee Session of 2021 something Uganda has upheld at the National Animal Genetic Resources Centre and Data Bank which was already in place at the time of the agreement. Uganda’s Minister for Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, Frank Tumwebaze was speaking during the opening of the Extra Ordinary summit of the Comprehensive African Agriculture Development Programme taking place at Speke Resort Munyonyo.
