CABINET AND LAYER FARMERS HATCH 45-DAY AGREEMENT ON EGG PRICES

The wholesale price of locally-produced eggs will be $13.00 per dozen for the next 45 days. Members of the cabinet gathered on Wednesday to consider a report by Agriculture Minister, Hon. Anthony Smith Jr on the matter. He is chairing a working group appointed by cabinet to review the proposed wholesale price increase on locally produced eggs. Following a meeting of this working group with representatives from the Layer Farmers Association, an agreement was reached to work collaboratively to facilitate an in-depth review and analysis of the pricing of locally produced eggs.
