Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, celebrated his 100th birthday on Tuesday making him the first former president to reach the milestone. A sold-out concert organized by the Friends of Jimmy Carter National Historical Park was held in Plains, Georgia, Carter’s hometown, and attracted people from across the country. The event included musical performances by Sandi Patty, Cindy Morgan, David Osborne, celebrating Carter’s deep love for music. Carter, a Democrat, served as president from January 1977 to January 1981. His centennial birthday comes 19 months after he entered hospice care at his home in Plains.
