California opens Medicaid to undocumented immigrants
In 2024, the U.S. state of California has become the first state to offer health insurance for all undocumented immigrants. As of this month, all undocumented immigrants, regardless of age, qualify for Medi-Cal, California's version of the federal Medicaid program for people with low incomes.
