California wildfires force the evacuation of 28,000 residents

Almost 30,000 residents in northern California have been told to leave their homes as wildfires rage across the state. Firefighters are working to protect homes after blazes broke out on Tuesday. 74 structures across the state have been destroyed or damaged. A state of emergency has been declared as experts forecast several more days of extreme heat.
