Call for caution on the roads
With the number of road deaths for 2024 at 22, compared to 17 last year, the Barbados Road Safety Association wants Barbadians to be cautious on the roads this festive season. President Roland Lowe tells CBC News the increase in fatalities recorded this year, which still has 11 days until it ends, is worrisome and a clear indication that drivers need to exercise more due care and attention. He is encouraging Barbadians who intend to attend parties and celebrations this Christmas season and into the new year, to arrange designated drivers to take them to and from events.
