Call for East African unity to honor Julius Nyerere's legacy

East African member states have been asked to recognize the role played by Pan-Africanists like the former president of Tanzania, Julius Nyerere, who significantly contributed to the liberation of the continent. A history scholar, Prof. Mwambutsya Ndebesa, head of the history department at Makerere University, says African countries should unite and become one strong unit to avoid being recolonized.
