Call for EU to ensure effective climate financing
Barbados wants the European Union to ensure effective climate financing for small island developing states. The call was made by Edmund Hinkson - the island's representative to the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) Parliamentary Assembly. Mr. Hinkson, during the OACPS-EU Joint Parliamentary Meeting held recently in Angola, spoke about the need to develop and implement a viable work programme under the Samoa Agreement. He also urged the EU to partner with Barbados in arriving at an international consensus on the issue of an effective vulnerability index for the accessing of development finance.
