Independent economist Saul Eslake has called for negative gearing to be “curtailed” for people seeking to invest in established housing. “In particular, by denying it for new investors in established housing,” Mr Eslake told Sky News Australia. “Whilst leaving it there for people who want to invest in new housing, which does add to the supply of housing, which we desperately need to do.”
