Can micro cities fix Australia's ongoing housing crisis?

Menzies Research Centre Youth Policy Director Freya Leach has discussed whether or not micro cities can fix the ongoing housing crisis in Australia. Ms Leach’s remarks come as the first draft proposals under Premier Chris Minns' 'accelerated precincts' in Sydney's north & northwest have been revealed, with hope to build up to 30,000 new homes in Kellyville, Bella Vista, Macquarie Park & Hornsby. The plans would also create up to 10,000 jobs. “Will this be enough I’m not so sure. We’ve had about 1.2 million new migrants come to the country since the election, and we’ve built about 380,000 houses. The math ain't mathing,” Ms Leach told Sky News host James Morrow. “So I’m not sure if these micro cities are going to change that.”
