Canada Post strike: Workers walk off the job nationwide as talks with Crown corporation fail
The Union for Canada Post workers said Friday its members had begun a nationwide strike as negotiations with the Crown corporation failed. The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), which represents some 55,000 postal workers, wants to see, among other demands, increases in line with inflation, cost-of-living adjustment payments and safer working conditions. In a separate statement, Canada Post said mail and parcels would not be processed or delivered during the strike. Jaden Lee Lincoln reports on the strike and the impact it’s expected to have.
