The Gauteng Health Department says it’s finalising the process of hiring private providers of radiation treatment for 3,000 cancer patients. Last year, R784-million was allocated to deal with this waiting list but not one patient on the list has been treated so far. Instead, the Treatment Action Campaign, Cancer Alliance, and Section 27 say the department has cut communication with them over the matter. This forced the organisations to march to the provincial health offices to demand answers. eNCA reporter Hloni Mtimkulu was there. Courtesy #DStv403
