CDEMA places key focus on science

The embrace of science by the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency is paying off for the Barbados-based organisation. Executive Director Elizabeth Riley says it has enabled CDEMA to greatly improve its analysis and models, in times of crisis. CDEMA has developed its relationship with the Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology and through this meteorologists are embedded in the disaster management agency. Ms. Riley was among the panel on 'Resilience Dialogue - Reflecting on 20 years Post Hurricane Ivan'.
