Centrist leader Francois Bayrou appointed as new French PM

France’s President Emmanuel Macron has announced the country’s new prime minister will be centrist leader Francois Bayrou. The appointment follows the ousting of Michel Barnier in a no-confidence vote. Mr Bayrou is expected to put forward his list of ministers in the coming days.
