Rachel Reeves has announced she is increasing the amount in national insurance contributions that employers pay. She told MPs that contributions will increase by 1.2 percentage points, to 15%, from April 2025. Meanwhile, the chancellor said she will not increase National Insurance, VAT and income tax for "working people".
