Charles H. Wright Museum celebrates 60 years of Black history and culture in Detroit
The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year with its “History in the House” event and other programming to commemorate the milestone and Dr. Charles H. Wright’s legacy. The museum was established in 1965 as a space to learn about Black history and understand African American culture. Today, the museum continues to serve as a powerful educational tool and cultural hub with more than 35,000 artifacts and over 300 programs annually. The museum’s longtime director of design and fabrication Kevin Davidson talks with “American Black Journal” host Stephen Henderson about the history of the museum and the legacy of Dr. Wright.
