For more: https://www.cgtn.com/video The Kazakhstan Folk Orchestra played traditional Kazakh instruments for an online audience in Almaty, as part of CGTN's "Read a Poem for 2024" show, a 24-hour livestreaming event hosted in seven cities worldwide on December 31 to celebrate New Year with people from around the world. The livestream started simultaneously at 08:00 GMT (4 p.m. Beijing Time) in Sydney, Xi'an, Changsha, Almaty, Cairo, Paris and Mexico City. Residents in those seven cities are invited to go on air and talk about their New Year's resolutions, read a poem, or give New Year's blessings to others. The Dombra, Kubuz and Sazi, instruments typical of Central Asian folk music, were among those used during the performance.
