‘Chess pieces’ around the world starting to move amid Middle East escalation
Sky News political contributor Chris Uhlmann says the “chess pieces” around the world are starting to move amid the escalation of the Middle East conflict. The US will send 100 troops as well as a powerful anti-missile weapon to Israel to strengthen its defence systems. However, the US State Department has also written a letter to Israel warning of consequences if it halts aid access to Gaza. “We are in an extremely dangerous moment right now into how deep this goes,” Mr Uhlmann said. “We’re seeing around the world some of the chess pieces beginning to move – Vladimir Putin met with the Iranian President last week. “Xi Jinping’s spoken about changes unseen in a century – they (China and Russia) both believe that the world order is changing.”
