Children’s social media safety is ‘paramount’ to Labor government

Minister for Communications Michelle Rowland has said the safety and mental health of Australia’s youth is “paramount”. “The Prime Minister has committed to introducing legislation this year to enforce a minimum age for access to social media,” Ms Rowland said during Question Time on Thursday. “The Albanese government quadrupled ongoing base funding for e-safety to ensure that they are equipped to respond to online harms.”
