China's economic recovery eyed as top leaders gather for key policy meeting

A once-in-five-year meeting is underway of the central committee of China's Communist Party, at which economic reform has traditionally been the focus. Analysts are playing down the prospect of nation-changing policy. But it comes at a time when the world's second-largest economy is slowing faster than expected, as government initiatives fall short of what is needed to stimulate demand and repair a crisis-ridden property market, as figures released earlier highlighted.
