China's undiscovered gems: Yiwu boosts international business via live commerce

Yiwu, the world's largest wholesale market for small commodities in east China's Zhejiang Province, has continuously reformed its business model and seen robust growth despite the global economic slowdown. In Yiwu, one can see live streamers skillfully broadcasting in different languages like English, Portuguese and Spanish. According to data from #China Customs, its import and export volume exceeded 560 billion yuan (around $78.8 billion) in 2023, with a significant boost from cross-border e-commerce. Rafael Saavedra, a content creator from Venezuela, has been living in China for about eight years.
