US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan has met with Chinese President Xi Jinping on a trip to Beijing. The Chinese president said his country was committed to maintaining its relations with the United States. US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan held a news conference after his meeting saying his role was, “responsible management of this relationship so that competition did not lead veer into confrontation”.
