Halldór Jóhannsson is the director of the Arctic Portal, which publishes data on the Arctic. As climate change threatens the entire planet, he has been instrumental in advancing scientific collaboration between Icelandic and Chinese researchers. One example of that is the China-Iceland Arctic Observatory, or CIAO. "CIAO in Chinese means bridge.
